Team Dragon had a busy weekend on September 9th &10th. On the 9th six of the team went to their first full contact show held in Worcester. The 6 strong all trained very hard up to the fight and can all hold their heads high with each one giving great performances.

Results are as follows:

First in the ring was Tom Smart fighting for the -45kg schoolboy national. Tom started with great focus and determination and proved to be too powerful for his opponent. The fight was stopped in the first round giving Tom the win.

Next up was Callum fighting for the English title belt. This was one hell of a battle against an old adversary. After 4 rounds Callum was given the decision, becoming our first English champion in full contact.

Next was Emma Porter who went out with nice techniques and a good solid guard. Unfortunately her opponent was a lot taller and kept Emma away. The decision went against Emma - but with her strength she will be back. (Watch this space!)

Paul Mayfield was up next after finding out his opponent had not arrived. Paul was matched up with another fighter over the three rounds. Paul threw everything at his opponent making it an easy points win.

Pacey Richards was next for the Dragons, with a similar outcome to Paul's and a great win.

Last up was Alwyn Harris (big Al). This fight was very close with nothing between the fighters.
The decision went against Al by one point.

In summary, the event was a great outing for us all. I would like to thank all the supporters that went to cheer on their fighter and congratulate all the fighters on a great show. You all did us proud.
